The Roller does not encourage any form of consumption. It is designed within a legal framework of precision craftsmanship for making botanical cones.
DdO — The path ahead

The Roller is only the beginning.

You're not buying a standalone object: you're stepping into a workshop that has no plans to stop there. Here's what's coming — from already-ready to the big dream.

  • Coming soon — the motorized Premium Station, the Batte holders, the technical Sizing Gauge
  • Right after that — physical presence, a mascot, a small mechanical game
  • The vision — a pocket format, then the machine that does it all

Everything starts after the deliveries: once the 1,000 Rollers are shipped, I open the full shop. Already designed → real photos. Still on the workbench → concept renders, no pretending otherwise.

Block 1 · Ready at launch

Coming soon.

Not distant promises: pieces already designed, ready as soon as the full shop opens.

  1. The centerpiece · Already designed

The Premium Station — precision, without the effort

The motorized version of the Roller.

Not a box: a beautiful workshop piece to display at home. The Roller, but motorized — a micro-motor planned from the very first sketch does the work for you. One button, no more wrist movement.

What it contains, piece by piece
    01 The motor

The motorized heart, planned from the start. It replaces the wrist movement.

    02 The tray

Decorated, both a display piece and a practical base for your prep.

    03 The storage box

Everything in order, right alongside the Station.

    04 The 2 Batte holders

To display and keep your Battes within reach.

    05 The 4 Battes

Four Battes included, ready to take their place on the holders.

Good to know if you're ordering today: the motor was designed to accept your Roller. Get your box now, add the motor later — fully compatible. First released in black and navy blue, to match your collection.

  2. The companions · At launch

    The Batte holders & accessories

Something to display, store, and complete the set.

A family of accessories to dress up your workshop corner: the Batte holders that showcase your Battes, available in every collection, plus a few other handy little pieces. Brand-new items, right when the shop opens.

Gift for the first 100: a Batte holder as a sneak preview, with a Batte to complete your set. See "It's a Gift!" →

  3. The accessory I'm fine-tuning · Nearly ready

The technical Sizing Gauge — your ideal width, without thinking

    The "French-style" method, made automatic.

The philosophy of La Batte: just the paper, zero excess. A perfectly clean cone means a purer taste and a smoother draw. The technical Sizing Gauge takes the idea further: it lets you reproduce the exact width that works for you, every single time.

Dozens of trials, several prototypes: it's nearly ready. I just have a few details left to refine — I'd rather get it right.

Being upfront

Why not everything, right now?

The temptation is there, but I'd rather do things properly. There's still finishing work, production, and standards to meet — for the Station, finding the right motor, fully compliant, before offering it. A Roller is a promise of quality: ready, never rushed.

Block 2 · Ideas in progress

Right after that: bringing the Batte to life.

Giving the Batte a real presence, beyond just the tool: a physical presence, a slightly wild mascot, a small mechanical game.

The most fun part — and the least certain: I'm not promising either the mascot or the game. But I've already worked out how they'd mechanically function, so I'd rather show you.

A real physical presence

Display stands, trade fairs & shows

Display stands and posters for shops, distributors, and my own booths: something to catch the eye and tell the object's story. Click "Fill the display" to see it stocked with boxes.

Several paths under consideration: trade fair demonstrations, and maybe even a booth at the Concours Lépine (the French inventors' competition; registration opens in September).

Idea in progress

The knight mascot

Fantasy figurine

A figurine kneeling on one knee, presenting your Batte horizontally like a knight with his sword. A small display stand, fun and proud.

A weight-driven balance: a full Batte → head bowed; an empty Batte → head raised. One glance and you know what's left.
Idea in progress

The mechanical game

A small game yet to be built

A figurine holding a real Batte, driven by buttons: a first button launches a ball (a left-hand move)…

…then a second button pivots the hips and the figurine swings the Batte to hit the ball. See how many runs you can score! A simple little mechanical game, one I genuinely plan to build just for the fun of it.
Block 3 · Long-term vision

Toward the machine.

The north star guiding everything else, step by step: an ultra-compact format, then an automatic version, and one day the big machine that does it all.

  1. Step 1 · All-in-one

    A more complete Roller, all-in-one

    The next direction is miniaturization.

An ultra-compact model: a pocket format you carry everywhere, without giving up an inch of consistency. Everything built in, always on you. Simple and lightweight to start — not necessarily motorized, that's a deliberate choice.

    • Pocket format, built for mobility
    • All-in-one, a single object to carry with you
    • Simple and lightweight to start (manual version)
    • Always the same principle: a consistent result, every time
    Vision
  2. Step 2 · Automatic

    Then an automatic version

    The same compactness, but automatic.

Once the ultra-compact is well mastered, I'll tackle the logical next step: a motorized pocket version. The same compactness, but powered by a built-in miniaturized motor. In short, the promise of the Premium Station — that automatic motion — but this time tucked into the palm of your hand.

    • The same pocket format, made smarter
    • Built-in miniaturized motor
    • The automatic motion, wherever you go
    Vision
  3. The big leap · The holy grail

La Batte Maestro by DdO: you choose, it makes

The big machine that does it all.

At the end of the road, the dream: a countertop appliance as simple as a coffee machine. You choose your settings — legal botanical material, quantity, paper size, tip type, finish — you press start, and it handles everything: measuring, blending, shaping, finishing.

    The principle

An end-to-end mathematical logic: the same settings always give the same result. The reliability of a machine, in service of a motion once reserved for an expert hand.

A long-term vision, presented as such. No date, no price: just the north star that gives meaning to everything else. This is, sincerely, where I dream of going.

Reserved for the 1,000

The first 1,000 stay a step ahead.

Being one of the 1,000 is much more than getting a Roller: it's privileged access to everything that follows.

1

A private space, always a preview

Every new release (Premium Station, ultra-compact, accessories) is offered to you about a week before anyone else. You see it and decide first.

2

Preorder priority

First ordered, first shipped. With handcrafted batch production, that priority changes everything.

3

An edge on all my future creations

Not just La Batte: everything I create going forward. Wherever what's next takes me, the first ones keep their edge.

This access is decided now, during the campaign — not later.

The workshop doesn't stop there

The Roller was only a first stone.

The workshop this campaign funds is meant to become a real idea lab. The method doesn't change: spot an everyday problem, solve it through 3D design and precision mechanics. And that approach works for plenty of other objects too.

The flagship project: the smart home, "DdO style"

Reconnecting with my original passion for electronics and taking on the smart home — but my way: beautiful objects, made in France, that bring comfort without the usual tech-industry coldness.

"Precision of motion, beauty of the object, made in France."

The smart home is just one example among others. Deep down, what I want is to set a certain way of creating free — and bring you along for the ride.
