Under the cap, an oval sponge: just the right moisture right before closing.

What it's for

Under this cap — designed to be as airtight as possible — sits an oval sponge cut to fit it exactly. Dampened a little ahead of time, it's used to moisten the paper right before closing, just before turning the gear.

How to use it

Inventor's honesty: I almost took it out — I never quite found the right amount of moisture. Personally, I do it the old-fashioned way. But testers got the hang of it and use it every time — and when several people share the same Roller, roommates for example, it really makes sense. Hygiene, by the way, is considered everywhere: two tongues are included, and everything rinses under water, everything is washable. So it stays — up to each person. Just remember to re-moisten the sponge from time to time, especially if the cap has been left open to the air.
